Eligen nueva primera secretaria de la UJC en Ciego de Ávila

The Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) in Ciego de Ávila, in an extraordinary session, elected Nailyn Machado Álvarez for the position of first secretary of the youth organization, replacing Lianet Pazo Cedeño, who until then had that responsibility and was promoted to National President of the Pioneers.

Ailyn Álvarez García, first secretary of the National Committee of the youth organization, when presenting the proposal, recognized the Lianet`s work for more than 10 years as a political cadre, who has assumed various responsibilities from the base and, under her direction, has achieved stability in the quality indicators measured in the province.

On the other hand, she explained that Nailyn Machado Álvarez, 31 year-old woman and a Law graduate, has had sufficient preparation to take on the new task. First, because of her experiences in directing the organization in the municipality of Morón, the second one most important in the territory. Region where she stood out for her maturity and transparency in conducting processes, and then, because in the last year she worked as second secretary in the province, which brought her closer to the dynamics of work required in this position.

The criteria emanating from the plenary recognized the work and management trajectory of the girls, always protagonists in their acting scenarios and examples of how much could be achieved with systematicity and commitment.

At the close of the meeting, Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, emphasized that promoting a cadre is always joy and called for strengthening the internal functioning of the UJC from the exemplary nature and good performance of its members. .

In addition, he added, "in the hands of young people is the continuity of the Cuban social project, as well as the success of the cadre policy, which guarantees the growth of partisan militancy at the height of current challenges."
