The XL edition of the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2022, recently concluded at the América Convention Center Square, in Varadero, in the province of Matanzas, constituted an opportunity for the socialization of experiences between managers and specialists of the Cubanacán Hotel Group.
Mariurka Martínez Alemán, delegate of that hotel chain in Ciego de Ávila, emphasized that participation in the contest created opportunities for businesses that will favor the development of the tourism sector in the main destinations of the country, based on exchanges with travel agencies to promote external and internal markets.
Dialogues with suppliers will expand the possibilities to access goods and services that will have an impact on the improvement of services and will make it possible to face the lack of imported resources through the incorporation of national products with proven quality and attractiveness for visitors.
In correspondence with the priorities established in the country, the facilities of the Cubanacán hotel chain in the territory are immersed in a computerization process to increase access to information and interaction with customers through digital platforms, she said.
She added that wireless internet connection services (wifi) will be extended and it will be possible to make electronic payments. There are four Cubanacán facilities in the province of Ciego de Ávila: Mojito, Tryp and Colonial Cayo Coco, located in the sun and beach destination Jardines del Rey; and the Hotel E. Rueda, located in the main town and with opportunities to develop city tourism, he recalled.
In the northern cays, the Tryp Cayo Coco and Mojito hotels provide services, where clients from Canada and Argentina stay, in addition to a high demand from national visitors; meanwhile, the Colonial, forerunner of tourism in Jardines del Rey, is undergoing a repair process.
Martínez Alemán highlighted the favorable behavior of the Russian market since the reopening ―after the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic― and lamented the interruption of these operations when flights were suspended because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
She argued that through the Cubanacán Travel Agency the domestic market is also promoted through one-day excursions to Coco and Guillermo cays, which include tours of dolphinariums, gastronomic offers and bathing time in pools and beaches.
