The repair of several educational institutions, with emphasis on those of the Primary educational level located in rural areas, is one of the priorities of the Municipal Directorate of Education in Morón, together with the economic plan of that territory.

Yoleisy Valdés Santiago, municipal director of Education in the Rooster City, highlighted that those in charge of the works are the New Image Constructive Solutions project (self-employed), with excellent results in their work, and the Provincial Company of Assurance and Educational Services (EPASE), which also contributed to the repair of the Heriberto Felipe school, belonging to the community of Los Quemados.

During the first stage, some of the schools repaired were the Ángel Gutiérrez multigrade primary school, in the community of Tuero; the José Luis Gómez, from Chillante, and the José Maceo and Camilo Cienfuegos centers, in Patria; in the latter, the financing allocated to the transformation of vulnerable communities was used, together with one million 600,000.00 pesos from the State budget, as it was one of the effects of Hurricane Irma.

In most cases, the tasks included the arrangement of school furniture, painting, the replacement of hydro-sanitary facilities, waterproofing roofs and ornamentation work in outdoor areas.

Regarding the future repair of other institutions, Valdés Santiago explained that as more funding is allocated, they plan to intervene in the community of La Serrana, and a well will be built in the Nicolás Hernández School, since the center does not have drinking water. Likewise, a general repair of the Alfredo Peña School, belonging to the community of Turiguanó, is planned for the second half of the year.

The Director of Education in Morón, visibly excited, said, "the most important work is currently being carried out": the change of location of the municipality's Palace of Pioneers, now located in the old Conrado Benítez school, right in the center of the city, which facilitates student access.
