    The joy of the Book Fair will return to Ciego de Ávila!

     After two years without the biggest book and literature festival touching Ciego de Ávila soil, from May 19 to 22 the joy of inked pages will return, with the inauguration here of the XXX Book Fair, which will put authors to dialogue with the public and will make the promotion a space for common enjoyment.

    According to statements by Yanely Santos Nieves, director of the Provincial Center for Books and Literature, 4,000 titles and 600 literary novelties will be released, while the Ávila Editions label proposes another 13 new copies, of which five have already been in the Havana capital.

    As usual, 27 areas are planned for the sale of books and an extensive plan of activities, in which various artistic manifestations will converge, with Mexican culture as a constant leitmotif and the writer Luis Álvarez Álvarez, winner of the 2017 National Literature Prize, as inspiration.

    In this way, in addition to this figure to whom the event is dedicated, the list of guests includes Ciro Bianchi, Olga García Yera, Rafael de Águila and Pedro Pérez Rivero, who will participate in opinion tables, present books and give conferences indistinctly.

    Although details are still being adjusted, expectations are growing with the opinion table that Carmen Hernández Peña will lead, related to the life and work of Luis Álvarez Álvarez; with the creative services management workshop, led by Pedro Pérez Rivero; and with the space that Félix Sánchez will have to discuss the importance of workshops in the training of young storytellers.

    Similarly, another opinion table will be dedicated to the journalistic work of José Aurelio Paz, led by Luis Raúl Vázquez, a worthy tribute that could not be missed in his native province, just as it has happened in the rest of the country, as the Public Corpse text, of his authorship, has reached the hands of readers.

    The Ciego del Ánima Square, under the 12-storey building, is maintained as a presentation area; for theoretical events the Museum of Decorative Arts; for matters related to history, the Brigadier José Ambrosio Rodríguez Provincial Historical Archive; at the Simón Reyes Provincial Museum of History, the area of ​​Martí will be in session; the House of the Young Creator will host the Sin pestillo space; the literary gatherings will take place at the Seasons Cafe; and the children's pavilion Paper Treasure will be located in the José Inda Hernández culture house.

    The appointment will have extensions to the Foster Home, the Ñola Sahíg Saínz School of Art, El Framboyán and El Algarrobo parks, in the capital city, the Tobacco Factory, the Celia Sánchez Manduley special school, and the towns of Vincent and Quesada. Soon, the Book Fair will continue its itinerant passage through the rest of the municipalities of the province.
