Much had to be longed for that turnaround that the Book Fair gave to the streets and the routine spring after spring in Ciego de Ávila, until it finally arrived this Thursday, May 19 and until Sunday, May 22.

In addition, it has not come only with sales tables and kiosks; the program includes book presentations, conferences, opinion lectures, contests, text readings by their creators, and tributes to writers of tradition and prestige.

Since this Thursday morning, in remembrance of the death of the National Hero, José Martí, a floral offering was placed in his memory; the dam has been opened for the avalanche of activities, divided by 27 different channels: the number of selling areas.

The opening words corresponded to Odalys Margarita Sánchez Méndez, executive secretary of the José Martí Cultural Society, who highlighted the symbolism of this May 19, twice, since art and literature will serve to entertain our National Hero.

Then, the music of the group Cantares de México and the presentation of the Telón Abierto group ended up raising the tone of a day that promises.

For example, the Museum of Decorative Arts hosts theoretical events such as the Imprint of Marti ethics opinion lecture, which this Thursday brought together Ciro Bianchi and José Antonio Quintana García, and the commemoration of the work of José Aurelio Paz, National Award of Journalism, by their colleagues.

Similar spaces are planned for the four days in the Brigadier José Ambrosio Gómez Cardoso Provincial Historical Archive (History Area) and the Provincial History Museum (Marti life and thought Area).

Of the leading spaces, the José Inda Hernández House of Culture stands out, erected as the Treasure of Paper Children's Pavilion, with presentations of dance, theater, oral narrations, songs and games, a safe proposal to take the little ones out for a walk these days.

The Saíz Brothers Association, as the young avant-garde that it is, offers the Barquito Café and the House of the Young Creator for clubs, readings and plastic arts exhibitions.
