The benefits of the productions of the local development project (PDL) Delavida, dedicated to artisanal cosmetology in the municipality of Morón, were recognized by Joel Queipo Ruiz, head of the Economic-Productive Department of the Central Committee of the Party (CCPCC), during the visit of the secretariat of that political organization to the province of Ciego de Ávila.

The political leader appreciated the opportunities for linking with meat companies and tourist and gastronomic facilities in the country, which would increase production capacities and allow the use of animal fats and vegetable oils used in the manufacture of natural handmade soaps, a leading product with high demand in entities of the retail network of Ciego de Ávila.

Discarded resources would acquire use value and, sometimes, indiscriminately dumped into the environment, which causes pollution; in addition to reducing production costs and, therefore, sales prices to the people, he stressed.

The manual elaboration and personalization of products (including others such as liquid soap, soap, soap, creams and body oils), conceived from natural elements with medicinal properties and beneficial for sensitive skin, also enhance Delavida, whose manufactures are endorsed by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

When exchanging with Yunet Pérez Pérez, head of the PDL, the head of the Economic Productive Department of the CCPCC learned that the soaps are obtained through the cold saponification technique, so that the additives (vegetable oils, animal fats, infusions, dehydrated medicinal plants, fruits and their seeds, honey and its derivatives) are preserved with total quality.

Through combinations of plants, a better effect is achieved on sensitive skin, with dryness and skin affected by psoriasis or other dermatological diseases, however, natural handmade soaps have their own benefit by preserving all the natural glycerin and being devoid of chemical products, argued the PDL representative.

The fundamental raw material (medicinal plants) is generally easy to obtain, since it abounds in the surroundings of the city of Morón, especially in the areas of the Great Wetland of the North of Ciego de Ávila, close to the Laguna de La Leche, where they grow wildly; and others (sunflower, coconut, soybean and some fruits) are produced on a family farm, Pérez Pérez explained.

Delavida offered employment opportunities to 12 people, inhabitants of the community; meanwhile, a majority representation of women (10) expresses the contribution to the National Program for the Advancement of Women by empowering them in society.

Their status as PDL accentuates their social character and they maintain the contribution to the environment as a premise, with the systematization of donations to the Neonatology Ward of the Captain Roberto Rodríguez Fernández Provincial General Teaching Hospital, where the medical staff uses sulfur soaps for the disinfection of the hands and the effectiveness in reducing the rate of bacteria was verified.

Through dermatologists, vulnerable people with skin conditions are identified to provide them with products that help improve their quality of life.

With a production volume of 400 soaps per day, although they could reach up to 1,300 if the availability of raw materials allowed it, these products are marketed in national currency, at affordable prices for the population in units of Commerce and the Artex chain, establishments of the PDL Petalis and Delavida's own store, the latter located on Tarafa Avenue, in the city of Morón.

The integral visit of the Secretariat of the CCPCC recognized as another fundamental value that these productions are developed with national resources, without the need to import chips, taking into account that they are manufactured locally, with endogenous resources and manually.

He described Delavida as an innovative project, characterized by the perseverance of a group of entrepreneurs and with the ability to expand, vertiginously, in just six months, as a result of the existence of an economic culture.
