The completion of the synthetic hockey field in Ciego de Ávila is almost a reality. The first vice president of INDER Raúl Fornés Valenciano stated this during his visit this Tuesday to the long-awaited facility.

The director of the sports organization praised the quality of the work that is still carried out there, including the perimeter fencing and the placement of the synthetic turf that is already in the completion phase by Argentine specialists.

To guarantee resistance, and above all durability, these days silica sand is dispersed throughout the synthetic field, tasks that are carried out with the support of athletes and coaches of the discipline that has given the most title to the local sports movement.

However, there are still work items to be completed, including the benches for the competing squads and the backstops that protect the goals.

Fornés recognized the difficult current conditions of resources and financing to carry out these two purposes successfully, but insisted on seeking the most appropriate solutions to complete the installation.

Among the plans to improve future conditions are projects for a socio-administrative building, bleachers and a small auxiliary clay court for warm-up.
