The will to immediately correct the indications of the recent integral visit of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party to the province of Ciego de Ávila was ratified by the highest authorities of Ciego de Ávila during the Provincial Council.

Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee of the Party and its first secretary in the territory, emphasized the urgency of achieving management changes: “A motivated and committed cadre transforms; an unmotivated team without the spirit to work is a hindrance”, he stated.

Another priority is the eradication of economic problems in all municipalities, where it is necessary to strengthen the role of the socialist state company, in order to increase the production of goods and services that guarantee greater offers to favor the decrease in prices, he said.

He alluded to the urgency of achieving substantial changes in Agriculture, Commerce and the Sugar Company, in addition to paying attention to development programs.

Economic efficiency must be achieved based on increased productivity, not with price increases, as is currently the case in some territories, he alleged.

Izquierdo Alonso stressed that, as public servants, government leaders and officials must "put their ears to the ground", strengthen ties with the communities and overcome difficulties with the execution of the approved budget for community care.

It is necessary, he held, to summon the people and get them to join in the solution to the neighborhood's problems, as a way to strengthen participatory democracy, the essence of the Cuban revolutionary process.

The transformations in the communities must encompass spirituality, which will be achieved by involving Health, Education, Culture and Sports, sectors that require priority attention from local administrations.

The party leader recalled that the province has financing and approved resources for the care of individuals and families in conditions of vulnerability; therefore, it is necessary to advance in the identification and characterization to offer assistance.
