    This Friday, the National Civil Defense General Staff reported the death of two people in Havana and a disappeared victim in the western province of Pinar del Río due to the heavy rains recorded in Cuba.

    In a meeting with the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, it was reported that the deceased ones were as a result of a landslide and an accident.

    Meanwhile, in the city of Pinar del Río, a passer-by fell into a flooded stream and, according to local residents, he was unable to get out of the water, so he is reported missing.

    According to the website of the Presidency, forecasts indicate increased rainfall and consequent flooding in the west and center of the island in the next few hours, which may be accompanied by winds.

    Given this situation, Díaz-Canel indicated that the entire Civil Defense system be activated, continue constant surveillance of the meteorological phenomenon, and evacuate the population in areas at risk of flooding or landslides.

    Regarding to the Institute of Meteorology, the conditions are not conducive to the formation of a tropical cyclone, but the precipitation will last until noon tomorrow and may be accompanied by winds.

    For now, the main effects on buildings were on the roofs, and in the capital, there were 40 collapses.
