A hug full of affection and admiration today sent Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, to Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, who turns 55 this Wednesday.

In his official Twitter account, Díaz-Canel described him as a companion of a thousand battles, and an exemplary figure of the PCC, and stressed that his political work clearly recognizes continuity. Congratulations on your 55, he stressed.

Roberto Morales Ojeda was born on June 15, 1967. He graduated as a doctor in 1991 and was Director of the Municipal Unit of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Municipal Director in Rodas and Cienfuegos, professional staff of the Communist Party of Cuba, official of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Cienfuegos, and a member of the Bureau in that municipality and in the province.

In addition, he was Minister of Public Health from 2012 to July 21, 2018 when he was promoted to the position of Vice President of the Council of Ministers in the First Ordinary Period of Sessions of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP).

He is a deputy to the ANPP, ratified on April 18, 2018 at the Constitutive Session of the IX Legislature, and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba.

He currently serves as Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
