In the effort to learn new ways of working in favor of development in the neighborhoods, delegates from constituencies of the five central provinces of the country will meet in Ciego de Ávila, on June 17 and 18, to carry out the III Regional Work Workshop Integrated Community (TCI).

Sponsored by the Commission of Local Bodies of the National Assembly of People's Power and based at the Máximo Gómez Báez University, it will be an opportunity to socialize experiences through exhibitions and the presentation of ten papers, in two work commissions, as reported at a conference of press.

Sonia Arenas Reyes, head of the Independent Department of Local Bodies of People's Power in Ciego de Ávila, explained that representatives of permanent work commissions of the ANPP and the Central Committee of the Party will also participate in the event.

In addition, other institutions with responsibility for the socioeconomic and spiritual transformation of neighborhoods and communities will be integrated, including Culture, Education, Sports, Labor and Social Security, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution and the Federation of Cuban Women.

The Workshop will be chaired by Miriam Brito Sarroca, president of the Commission of Local Bodies of the National Assembly of People's Power, who recently led similar events that took place in the territories of Matanzas and Granma, she said.

Brito Sarroca, declared to the Cuban News Agency that the organization of these activities in the nation responds to instructions from the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, Esteban Lazo Hernández, head of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State.

The workshops in popular councils and municipalities laid the foundations for the celebration of the regional ones referred to the TCI.The TCI is based on Law No. 132/2019 "On the Organization and Functioning of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power and Popular Councils", whose article 104 establishes:

“The delegates promote and support the development of integrated community work as a method promoted from the constituency, to unite the community, in the formation of patriotic and ethical values, and seek their own solutions to existing situations, without supplanting the role of the organizations that they act there."
