With the participation of the provinces of Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Camagüey and the host territory, the III Regional Workshop on Integrated Community Work began today in Ciego de Avila.
The first session of the event, held at the Máximo Gómez University, hosted a presentation of initiatives that are developed in neighborhoods and communities, including that of Jasiel Aguada Barceló, delegate of the province of Villa Clara, about the results of his constituency, by linking voters to knowledge of history.
With the determination to teach new ways of doing things in favor of development, Elegaray Pentón Quesada, delegate of constituency two in the province of Sancti Spiritus, also presented his experiences, who at only 19 years of age achieves favorable effects through popular participation in the transformation of neighborhood problems.
Sponsored by the Commission of Local Bodies of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), the meeting will meet today and tomorrow to socialize experiences through exhibitions and the presentation of ten papers, in two work commissions.
Representatives of Parliament's permanent work commissions and other institutions with responsibility for the socioeconomic and spiritual transformation of neighborhoods and communities, including Culture, Education, Sports and mass organizations, among others, also participate in its sessions.
The Workshop is chaired by Miriam Brito Sarroca, president of the Commission of Local Bodies of the National Assembly, who recently led similar events in the territories of Matanzas and Granma.
Integrated Community Work is based on Law No. 132/2019 "On the Organization and Functioning of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power and People's Councils", whose article 104 establishes:
“The delegates promote and support the development of integrated community work as a method promoted from the constituency, to unite the community, in the formation of patriotic and ethical values, and seek their own solutions to existing situations, without supplanting the role of the organizations that They act there."
