The repair of the Intensive Care Room of the Roberto Rodríguez Fernández Provincial General Teaching Hospital, in the municipality of Morón, ensures higher quality in patient care and superior conditions for the performance of medical personnel.

Rebeca Cortina Toledo, head of Production at the North Various Works Base Business Unit (UEB), belonging to the Construction and Assembly Company of Ciego de Ávila (CONAVIL), highlighted that they replaced veneers, changed the carpentry and placed false ceilings.

Made up of eight workers (bricklayers, carpenters, electricians and painters), the brigade assumes the painting and replacement of lights and electrical accessories in all areas of this hospital service, and the improvement of the roof is planned, he added.

Valued at more than 411,300 pesos, the investment is 80 percent complete and must be completed within a month (at the end of the first half of June), so that the contract between the construction company is fulfilled and the hospital institution, he said.

With the exception of the raincoat, which does not exist in CONAVIL's inventories, the resources are provided by that entity, integrated into the Ciego de Ávila`s Heartbeat political movement, as part of which numerous organizations support the renovation of the provincial hospitals located in Morón and the main city.

Cortina Toledo argued that the aforementioned UEB participates in transformations that are carried out in the Turiguanó popular council, of the territory of Morón, where it has intervened in the renovation of two family doctor's offices (CMF), a pharmacy and a clinical laboratory.

In the town itself, located near the north coast of Ciego de Ávila, they undertook the assembly of a bio-healthy gym, they participate in hygiene days and, in general, they are involved in integrated community work to achieve changes that increase the quality of life.

For the benefit of the inhabitants of there, in particular the mothers and fathers linked to productive activities, the construction of a children's circle began, currently in the foundation phase, he explained.

Workers from that organization also carried out constructive actions in CMF number 23 in the municipality of Morón and have participated in beautification work in the city of Ciego de Ávila.

They join the construction of homes for victims of hurricanes in the coastal settlement of Punta Alegre, where they benefited 25 families during the year 2021 and, by 2022, they plan to provide that joy to another 35, he declared.

The UEB Obras Various Norte is also in charge of important tasks that ensure tourist operations in the Jardines del Rey destination, including the repair of the bridges of the causeway that joins the Island of Turiguanó with the northern cays of Ciego de Ávila and the restoration of real estate in hotel facilities.

In the laundry located in Turiguanó, the second phase of the waste treatment plant is being undertaken, which reduces the pollution of the environment and the consumption of this natural resource, in addition to allowing the recovery of 80 percent of the water and its reuse in new Hygienization cycles of the linen of tourist facilities.
