Unión Eléctrica prevé afectaciones por déficit de capacidad de generación

The Electric Power Company reports that this Sunday the service was not affected due to a deficit in generation capacity.

The availability of the SEN at 06:00 hours is 2,278 MW and the demand is 2,150 MW, with the entire system in service. At 02:23 hours, the Antonio Guiteras CTE unit went out of service for maintenance, which is expected to incorporate again into the SEN on Thursday during peak hours.

In this sense, this morning the maintenance work of the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant began.

Cleaning of the regenerative air heaters, solution of the high temperature area in the boiler and another 164 correction tasks will be undertaken in 72 hours to bring the block up to 240 megawatts and perhaps a little more.

More than 300 personnel from the power plant maintenance company participate. From now on, a human clock begins complex operations.

In this condition, starting at 08:00 hours, the service will begin to be affected due to a deficit in generation capacity; a maximum affectation of 200 MW is estimated for the day and afternoon.

Units 6 and 7 of the CTE Máximo Gómez, the CTE unit Otto Parellada, unit 4 of the CTE Diez de Octubre and unit 5 of the CTE Antonio Maceo are out of service due to breakdowns.

The Antonio Guiteras CTE unit and Lidio Ramón Pérez CTE unit 2 are under maintenance. Limitations on thermal generation (415 MW) are maintained.

In distributed generation, 1,104 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 375 MW are undergoing maintenance. 

For peak hours, the recovery of 100 MW that are out of service for fuel in distributed generation and the use of 193 MW in diesel engines is forecast

With this forecast, an availability of 2,571 MW and a maximum demand of 2,780 MW are estimated for peak hours, for a deficit of 209 MW, so if the forecast conditions are maintained, an affectation of 280 MW is forecast at the peak, It is estimated that the service will be restored at 01:00 am tomorrow morning.

All consumption restriction measures are implemented in the state sector.
