    The Piña Colada Festival starts in Ciego de Ávila

    Fusion and alternative music were supposed to arrive in Ciego de Ávila quickly with the Piña Colada Festival, but the start was false and it will be from today the 6th until Sunday the 10th that the party will sound great to pay off debts, after two years with the stages off, and to liven up the initial chords of the summer stage.

    As announced at a press conference for the inauguration of the event, a grand parade is scheduled for today, Wednesday, starting at 8:00 p.m., from Alameda de la Locución and to Parque Martí, which will bring together cultural projects, companies artistic activities and initiatives of the José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors. At the end of the day, there will be a show with a representation of the values ​​of traditional popular culture in the region, and Arnaldo Rodríguez and the Talismán will offer a great concert.

    Unlike other editions, on this occasion the neighborhood, the communities and the popular councils will be fundamental venues for the presentations, to which will be added the House of the Young Creator, Patio de Artex, the Mulato Acelera'o, the house of José Inda Hernández culture, the Piña Colada nightclub and the boulevard.

    Likewise, the Plaza Mayor General Máximo Gómez Báez will be the central stage for the great concerts.

    Also, it is included in the program is the Music and Youth symposium, whose management will rest on the shoulders of the Hermanos Saíz Association, and a tribute to Adalberto Álvarez, starring talented creators in the field of popular dance music.

    At the moment, details are being adjusted and there is still no defined program, but it is expected to have national groups such as Toques del Río, El Niño y la Verdad, Iván y Los Titanes de la Timba, Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, Will Campa and the Great Union, and La Charanga Latina.

    In addition, the singer-songwriters Raúl Paz, David Blanco and Polito Ibáñez will arrive here, as well as actors from the television series Calendario, the telenovela Tú and the police serial Tras la huella, who will join the Ciego de Ávila`s citizens to lead the shows.

    In the end, there will be four days in which good music will invade every space in the city, with proposals for all tastes, and local talent will be able to compete on stage with the national, enough reasons to be with eyes and ears attentive to the Details to come in the coming days.
