Proseguirán las afectaciones eléctricas este miércoles

Yesterday in the province of Ciego de Ávila, the deficit was maintained throughout the day and night, reaching 43 MW (megawatts) during peak hours. Period in which the demand of the territory rose to 107 MW. All circuits were turned off according to the schedule, with an average impact of 7 hours and 38 minutes, reported from the Electric Company in that municipality.

At 4:36 a.m. today, the service was restored in all circuits and it began to shut down again at 6:42 a.m., with a deficit of five MW. The availability of generation below demand is maintained with an estimate of 25 MW for the day.

As for the entire country, yesterday the service was affected due to a lack of capacity throughout the day. The maximum affectation occurred during the peak hours with 678 MW turned off at 9:00 p.m., which was maintained throughout the early hours of today. At 04:41 am today, the damage to the system was restored.

According to the engineer Lázaro Guerra Hernández, technical director of the Electric Union of Cuba (UNE), in the magazine Good morning, for this Wednesday an affectation of 550 MW is estimated in the morning and afternoon, high although somewhat less than the from yesterday.

However, for the peak night time, the entrance of unit 6 of the Antonio Maceo Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) (Renté, Santiago de Cuba) with 50 MW, unit 1 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton, Holguín), in the process of taking charge with 120 MW, and the use of 164 MW in diesel engines.

With this forecast, an availability of 2,689 MW and a maximum demand of 2,860 MW are estimated for the hours of greatest consumption, for a deficit of 171 MW, therefore, if the forecast conditions continue, an affectation of 241 MW is forecast for the peak. It is estimated that the service will be restored at 02:00 am on Thursday morning.

Units 6, 7 and 8 of CTE Máximo Gómez (Mariel, Artemisa), CTE unit Otto Parellada (Old Havana), unit 4 of CTE Diez de Octubre (Nuevitas, Camagüey) are out of service due to breakdowns. ), unit 1 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez and unit 6 of the CTE Antonio Maceo (in the start-up process).

Unit 2 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez continues under maintenance.

The limitations in thermal generation (452 MW) are maintained.

In distributed generation, 1,010 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 475 MW are undergoing maintenance.

Electrical Power Company from Ciego de Ávila prepared the following schedule of blackouts due to a lack of generation capacity. Invasor is not responsible for any changes that may occur.
