The Electric Company of Ciego de Ávila reports that yesterday, Sunday, the deficit in the availability of generation was maintained throughout the day, turning off the circuits outside of what was planned due to the high number to be turned off in the province, which had a maximum 45 MW (megawatts) during peak hours at night.

The average time of affectation by circuits was seven hours and the maximum demand, in the province, was 101 MW at 9:00 past meridian.

For today in the territory of Ciego de Ávila, generation availability is lower than demand, so a deficit of 45MW is estimated.

Yesterday, Sunday, the service was affected by capacity deficit 24 hours a day in the national territory. The maximum effect at night was 843 MW at 9:50 p.m., coinciding with peak hours. The service remained affected throughout the early hours of Monday.

A maximum affectation of 850 MW is expected in the daytime during the current day in the country.

Units 6, 7 and 8 of the Máximo Gómez Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) (Mariel, Artemisa), the Otto Parellada CTE unit (Tallapiedra, Old Havana), units 4 and 5 of the CTE Diez de Octubre (Nuevitas, Camagüey), units 1 and 2 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton, Holguín) and unit 5 of the CTE Antonio Maceo (Renté, Santiago de Cuba).

Limitations on thermal generation (495 MW) are maintained.

In distributed generation, 1,114 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 440 MW are undergoing maintenance.

For peak hours, engineer Lázaro Guerra Hernández, technical director of the Cuban Electric Union (UNE), said in the magazine Buenos Días, that the entrance of unit 5 of the CTE Rente with 85 MW and unit 1 from CTE Felton with 250 MW, both in the process of starting up at noon; in addition to the use of 128 MW in diesel engines.

With this forecast, an availability of 2,608 MW and a maximum demand of 3,000 MW are estimated for peak hours, for a deficit of 392 MW, so if the forecast conditions are maintained, an affectation of 462 MW is forecast in that period of greatest night consumption.

Next, we offer the schedule of affectations prepared by the Electric Company due to a deficit in generation availability for this week, from Monday, August 1 to Sunday, August 7. As has been repeatedly explained, this plan is subject to change depending on the deficit at any given time. Portal Avileño is not responsible for any changes that may occur.
