Yesterday, the Ciego de Ávila Electric Company informs Invasor that the deficit in generation availability was aggravated by the exit of the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) and unit 6 of the Antonio Maceo CTE, which caused a deficit for the province of 64 MW (megawatts), which forced to affect every three and a half hours; situation that will continue during today.

The average affectation time per circuit was 10 hours and 40 minutes.The maximum demand, in the province, was 113 MW at 7:50 past meridian.

For today, Thursday, a deficit of 60 MW is estimated.

Yesterday, the service was affected by a 24-hour capacity deficit in the national territory. The maximum affectation at night was 1101 MW at 8:20 p.m., coinciding with peak hours. The service remained affected throughout the early hours of today.

A maximum affectation of 950 MW is estimated for this day during daytime hours.

Units 6, 7 and 8 of the CTE Máximo Gómez (Mariel, Artemisa), the CTE unit Otto Parellada (Tallapiedra, Habana Vieja), the CTE unit Antonio Guiteras (Matanzas), unit 4 of the CTE Diez de Octubre (Nuevitas, Camagüey), units 1 and 2 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton, Holguín) and unit 6 of the CTE Antonio Maceo (Renté, Santiago de Cuba).

Unit 4 of the CTE Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (Cienfuegos) is under maintenance. Technological limitations in thermal generation (681 MW) remain.

The engineer Lázaro Guerra Hernández, technical director of the Electric Union of Cuba (UNE), in the Buenos Días magazine, said that the current scenario is very complex because four of the five pillar units of thermal generation in Cuba are outside.

In distributed generation, 1,135 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 442 MW are undergoing maintenance.

For peak hours, the use of 141 MW in diesel engines is forecast.

With this forecast, an availability of 1,999 MW and a maximum demand of 3,000 MW are predicted for the peak hour, for a deficit of 1,001 MW, so that, if the forecast conditions continue, an affectation of 1,071 MW is forecast at the peak.

All consumption restriction measures are implemented in the state sector.
