Like the rest of the country, Ciego de Ávila shares the national mourning for those who disappeared during the catastrophe at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, in frank and supportive tribute to the heroism of those who lost their lives in the honorable line of duty.

In fact, the deepest Ciego de Ávila`s heartbeat accompanies the Yumurino`s people from the Matanzas Firefighters Museum, where firefighters and civilians are fired, who fell in the most devastating fire in the history of Cuba.

Although the mourning for such an unfortunate loss shakes the soul of the nation, the solidarity gesture of our people, like that of the rest of the country's provinces, is also evident in these moments of adversity and unrest.

For fourteen days, Ciego de Ávila has deeply felt the pain of Matanzas for the victims of the incident, which is why, from this final goodbye; it also makes the noblest and purest heartbeat of our society vibrate.
