Organización y disciplina en jornada inicial de ventas de divisas en Ciego de Ávila

Organization, discipline and normality prevailed on the first day of foreign currency sales to natural persons at the Exchanges Offices to which Granma had access in the province of Ciego de Ávila.

At the Cadeca, located in the boulevard of the capital city, at 8:30 a.m. the availability with which to open the office was explained to the population and immediately the distribution of the 50 numbers began, the capacity for the initial day.

According to the details of Ms. Odalys Hernández Manso, provincial director of CADECA, the process is carried out as planned, although in the city of Morón it began with a delay due to the lack of electricity.

At 11:05 in the morning, in the branch, one of the largest in the province, they had served 34 people, with a greater demand for USD and Euro, activities that they carry out in conjunction with the other tasks of CADECA.

In addition to the MLC comparison, Lisandra Salinas Ojeda, director of that branch, specified the workers carried out other usual tasks, company deposits, cash withdrawals by cards, ONAT collection, payments to retirees and fuel card sales.

Julio Escacena López, 58 years old, believes that the authorized purchase of currency gives security to those who demand it, by not having to face the informal market, with risk for people.

Last Monday, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández appeared on the Roundtable program to report on the implementation of the exchange market in Cuba.

“We will gradually take steps in that direction, which we will then be able to deepen, with the aim of achieving a market that allows the legal exchange of currency in the country, and moving forward to give the national currency greater purchasing power in the functioning of the economy”, Gil Fernández commented in part of the speech.

“It is appreciated, he said, that the results correspond to the proposed objectives, of having a level of purchase of the limited foreign currency that is entering the country, due to the fact that there is still not a large influx of tourists and due to the effects of the blockade on the remittances".
