    Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, Minister of Education, and Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuba Communist Party, verified today the assurances to continue the 2021-2022 school period in the province of Ciego de Ávila.

    During his stay, he obtained details about the enrollment and construction status of the Rafael Morales Pedagogical School, in addition to receiving general information about the completion of the faculty to continue the school year and the work projections for the 2022-2023 period.

    When talking with the teachers, Velázquez Cobiella urged to increase the efficiency in the educational teaching process.

    According to the Invasor newspaper, the school year will be resumed with 6,493 teachers, a figure that does not cover the needs ―fundamentally in Primary, Secondary and Technical-Professional education―; however, alternatives are planned, such as hourly contracts and increases in teaching loads and the number of students to attend.

    The newspaper itself reported that 18 schools in Ciego de Ávila, located in communities considered to be in a vulnerable situation, will receive students and teachers with better infrastructure conditions, which will favor the development of the teaching and learning process.

    Marilyn Esponda Brito, head of the Investment Department of the Provincial Directorate of Education, highlighted that the rehabilitation actions have favored centers located in the towns of Morón, Florencia, Majagua, Baraguá and the main municipality, despite not being contemplated in the repair and maintenance plans.
