    Entregan reconocimientos a cederistas avileños

    This Tuesday, educational centers, families and outstanding CDR members from Ciego de Ávila received the Neighborhood Prize and the September 28 distinction, indistinctly, granted by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), from their national coordinator, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo.

    In the mountainous municipality of Florencia, the Republic of Nicaragua Pre-University Institute won the Neighborhood Award for contributing to the unity and formation of values ​​in Cuban society.

    The recognition stimulates the community work of the center, its performance in the comprehensive training of students, the coordination of local activities and the integration of young people to the CDR 60th Anniversary detachments, as well as their participation in health research, in addition to the teachers' contribution to voluntary blood donations.

    In the town of Gaspar, in the municipality of Baraguá, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba presented the September 28 distinction to Raúl Antonio Machado Rabí, a firefighter who contributed to extinguish the fire at the supertanker base in Matanzas, and to CDR member Manuel Rodríguez Reina, for his long career in the organization, as well as the Neighborhood Award for zone 17 of the CDR.

    The day of recognition, extended until night time, concluded in the capital city with the participation of Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in Ciego de Ávila, and the awarding of the distinction on 28 September to firefighter Richard Maché Gómez, for his act of heroism, solidarity and altruism in support of the extinction of the Matanzas fire.

    In an exchange with the CDR members, at various times during the day, Hernández Nordelo highlighted the importance of the participation of all members of the organization in the referendum on the next day on the 25th for the Family Code and exemplified the value of the document for the protection of all types of families, as well as the most vulnerable people.

    He recalled that the one that will be put to the vote is version number 25 of the Law, which was modified on so many occasions to take into account all the opinions and suggestions, both from experts and from the population, precisely to make it fairer and more comprehensive.
