Experts from the Center for Demographic Studies of the University of Havana (CEDEM) called for a greater integration of specialists and researchers in Ciego de Ávila for the implementation of the Cuban policy of attention to demographic dynamics.

This was confirmed by the doctor of science Iliana Benítez Jiménez, coordinator of the country's Demographic Observatories, who insisted that the look must be more comprehensive and inclusive.

The foregoing transpired at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech pedagogical center, of the House of Higher Studies of Ciego de Ávila, where the governmental challenges of the territory in terms of active aging, fertility, mortality and early pregnancy were also presented.

The issue of labor resources, incorporation into work, the advancement of women, as well as housing and human settlements also captured the attention of the debate, which sets guidelines for decision-making in local governments.

The Ciego de Ávila Demographic Observatory, attached to the Máximo Gómez Báez University, monitors both external and internal migratory flows, the latter having the greatest impact on the future strategic development of this central province.
