Just as they will do on the 25th, when the Family Code referendum takes place, this Sunday, around 900 polling stations in Ciego de Ávila opened their doors very early to carry out the dynamic test that verified the logistical assurances and the preparation of the human resources that will intervene in the process, in order to guarantee the quality and transparency of the democratic exercise.

Osvaldo Álvarez Díaz, president of the Provincial Electoral Council (CEP), explained that the test was divided into two stages, the first of which focused on the enrollment of schools and the availability of the necessary means and resources for its proper functioning, which It flowed favorably, since the electoral authorities were present and the communication, transportation and food plans designed for the day of the vote were guaranteed.

In a second moment, he added, the preparation of the electoral authorities that have been training since they took office last August was verified, with emphasis on the 4495 that will work in the schools, for which purpose an exercise was developed demonstrative practice that included the counting of ballots, their classification and the processing of the results to the superior instances.

To ensure the right to vote of those people who are distant from their areas of residence for work, educational and personal reasons, 29 special schools will operate in the province, among which, according to Marleny Báez Valdivia, vice president of the CEP, stand out as novelty the 23 that for this occasion were enabled in the northern keys of the territory ―six in administrative facilities and 17 in tourist centers― given the number of national clients who enjoy this destination and the personnel who work there.

Likewise, Báez Valdivia asserted, the different spaces continue to be used to publicize the potentialities of the new Code, so that, on September 25, the more than 331,900 voters who are estimated to go to the polls in Ciego de Ávila, can exercise a conscious and informed vote by a regulation that like never before embraces the affections, the plurality of families, the inclusion and the protection of people in vulnerable situations.

During the day, the highest political and governmental authorities of the territory, led by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, a member of the Party's Central Committee and its first secretary in the province, and Governor Tomás Alexis Martín, toured several schools in the capital city where, in addition to to check the readiness of the conditions for the popular referendum, they exchanged with electoral authorities, support personnel and community factors that intervened in the preparation exercise, with the purpose of solving the deficiencies that may still exist so that the vote of the next Sunday goes smoothly.
