With the completion of the Medical Stay and the Miscellaneous B and Gastroenterology for Adults and Children rooms, construction actions are advancing at a good pace at the Doctor Antonio Luaces Iraola Provincial General Teaching Hospital, after months of work on more than 70 objects of work, which gradually change the image and comfort of this health institution for the better.

Avanzan obras constructivas en hospital de Ciego de Ávila

This was announced during the exchange held between representatives of the companies and entities that sponsor the work and the highest leadership of the province, headed by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party, and Governor Tomás Alexis Martín.

The changes of carpentry, the replacement of false ceilings and plumbing elements, the elimination of leaks, and the repair of hydro-sanitary networks and climate equipment, concentrate the bulk of the pending tasks due to the lack of resources; however, Izquierdo Alonso assessed the advances as positive in one of the most complex economic times in the country, when it seemed less likely to carry out a task of this magnitude.

“What has been achieved to date shows that it is possible to do more and better, despite the shortcomings, because they have nothing to do with abandonment or insensitivity. The constructive actions that we have undertaken were essential due to the deterioration of the hospital and the people will appreciate it. The effort will be worth it."

Similarly, he urged to speed up the pace of work in the Grocery Store, the Waiting Room for Relatives, an old debt of the center with its patients, the Intensive Care Unit and the Oncology and Pregnant B rooms, since they play a primary role when we talk about quality of care and its completion can become more complex.

In the next few days, work should begin in the Pharmacy, Nephrology, Miscellaneous A, Respiratory, rooms A and D, the Ophthalmology Center and the External Consultation, and, even though there is no defined completion date, it is expected that the end of the year surprise us by reopening many other spaces.
