Actualización del Sistema Eléctrico Nacional

Yesterday, Thursday at 6:25 p.m., the isolated systems of the western and eastern regions were synchronized and the National Electroenergetic System (SEN) remained operating as an integrated system.

The service was affected by generation capacity deficit throughout the day in the isolated system of the central-eastern region.

The affectation at 07:00 hours for this cause is 862 megawatts (MW), of which 557 MW are affected in the provinces from Pinar del Río to Mayabeque, caused by effects associated with the damage made by Hurricane Ian.

It is estimated that the impact on the electrical service will continue due to a deficit in generation capacity throughout the day from the province of Matanzas to Guantánamo. Additionally, in the provinces from Pinar del Río to Mayabeque, the effects on the service will be reduced to the extent that the damage caused by the hurricane is restored.

Units 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Máximo Gómez Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) (Mariel, Artemisa) (unit 8 in the process of starting up), the unit of the CTE Otto Parellada (Tallapiedra, Old Havana), units 1 and 3 of the CTE Ernesto Guevara (Santa Cruz del Norte, Mayabeque), CTE Antonio Guiteras (Matanzas), unit 4 of the CTE Diez de Octubre (Nuevitas, Camagüey), unit 2 of CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton, Holguín) and Unit 4 of CTE Antonio Maceo (Renté, Santiago de Cuba).

Unit 3 of the CTE Renté is undergoing maintenance.

In distributed generation, 1,076 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 669 MW are undergoing maintenance.
