Solidaridad de Ciego de Ávila llega al occidente cubano

Solidarity among Cubans is manifested in various ways and one of them is the shipment of agricultural food from Ciego de Ávila to Pinar del Río, a province that received the hardest impact of Hurricane Ian.

For the second time, 120 tons of food, vegetables and grains were sent to Pinar del Río, which, without a doubt, will contribute to the sustenance of families, since the hydro-meteorological phenomenon raged with everything in its path.

Yadier Pérez Téllez, program coordinator for the provincial government, explained to Invasor digital that in recent days the Collection Company organized a similar load.

The website also specified that the donations also include lingerie and household items, collected by the different agencies in the 10 municipalities of Ciego de Ávila.

To this initiative, as the days go by, more people, work centers, mass organizations and associations, such as those of the Economists and the Journalists who receive donations at their headquarters, are added, Invasor highlighted.

Etecsa, Copextel and Joven Club have prepared suitcases, and workers from several hotel facilities in the Jardines del Rey tourist area gathered clothing, toiletries and other essential items.

The solidarity of Ciego de Ávila towards the affected territories is also expressed with the presence of workers from the Electric and Etecsa companies, who collaborate in the reestablishment of the networks in the shortest possible time.

In the same way, two specialized groups traveled in the assembly of cultivation houses, belonging to the Vegetable Production Base Business Unit, of the Ceballos Agro-industrial Company; and cooperators from the poultry and forestry entities, in addition to a delegation with donations from the Construction Materials Company.

Kaled Cruz Cobo, technical director of the Electric Company from Ciego de Ávila and one of those in charge of the contingent, told the Cuban News Agency (ACN) by telephone that after supporting the recovery of the service in Havana, they moved to the municipality of San Juan y Martínez, in Pinar del Río.

He specified that they appreciate a municipality with 50 or 60 percent damage, so there is work for no less than a month and they will do it with the utmost professionalism because we electricians "know the importance of rehabilitating a service as soon as possible as vital as this.”

In the last hours, another reinforcement group made up of linemen and electrical workers was added with the aim of accelerating the recovery in the western province.
