The defense of the socialist homeland is a perennial task in the face of repeated threats from our historical enemy. Sufficient reasons to have the different structures and territorial defensive mechanisms "greased", fine-tuned, as well as to advance in the specification of missions and tasks.

In the Vicente Popular Council, located in the municipality of Ciego de Ávila, a territorial defensive exercise of the defense zone was carried out, which began with the making of the notice and the complete readiness for the defense of the command and troops.

When occupying the management positions, they receive details of the situation of the enemy in the territory of the defense zone, decisions are made, missions to the different economic and social groups and subgroups and to the Production and Defense Brigades are specified.

Likewise, all the steps related to the mobilization of militiamen and brigade members from the attention area were verified.

During the exercise, it was possible to verify how food production is guaranteed through the alternatives available in the area, elements that are vital for sustaining the vitality of the residents and military units in exceptional situations or in war.

The strategic conception of the war of all the people, that each Cuban revolutionary has a means, a place and a way to fight the aggressors, was appreciated through the execution of ambushes, the protection of people against an air attack, civil defense actions and the repair of info-communication networks.

Tomás Alexis Martín Venegas, Vice President of the Provincial Defense Council, as well as chiefs and officers of the Ciego de Ávila Military Region participated in the exercise.
