The Ciego de Ávila Electric Company reports that yesterday, Tuesday, the deficit in generation availability reached a maximum of 90 megawatts (MW) during peak hours.

The average of affectation by circuits was 12 hours and 30 minutes, while the maximum demand in the territory of Ciego de Ávila occurred at 7:10 past meridian with 110 MW. It is estimated for the present day in the province a deficit of 85 MW.

The maximum impact during the night hours was 1,609 MW at 7:10 p.m., coinciding with the peak hour, of which 33 MW were due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ian. A maximum impact of 1,150 MW is estimated due to a deficit in generation capacity during daytime hours.

Units 5, 6 and 7 of the Máximo Gómez Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) (Mariel, Artemisa), CTE unit Otto Parellada (Tallapiedra, Habana Vieja), unit 4 of CTE Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (Cienfuegos), unit 4 of the CTE Diez de Octubre (Nuevitas, Camagüey), unit 2 of the CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton, Holguín) and unit 5 of the CTE Antonio Maceo (Renté, Santiago de Cuba).Unit 2 of CTE Ernesto Guevara (Santa Cruz del Norte, Mayabeque), unit 5 of CTE Nuevitas, unit 1 of CTE Felton (in startup process) and unit 3 of CTE Renté are under maintenance.

The technological limitations of the thermal generation blocks (327 MW) are maintained. In distributed generation, 1,022 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 720 MW are undergoing maintenance.

For peak hours, the entry of unit 1 of the CTE Felton with 250 MW and the entry of 77 MW in diesel engines is estimated.

With this forecast, an availability of 2,107 MW and a maximum demand of 3,250 MW are estimated for the peak hour, for a deficit of 1,143 MW, so if the forecast conditions continue, an affectation of 1,213 MW is forecast for this hour.
