Culture regrets death of Luis Venegas Carmenate in Ciego de Ávila

Luis Alberto Venegas Carmenate

Victim of generalized sepsis, Luis Alberto Venegas Carmenate, one of the most outstanding figures of Culture in Ciego de Ávila, died this Tuesday.

In addition to having been Deputy Provincial Director of Culture, Pérez Carmenate also directed the branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, a cultural institution that during his tenure remained among the best in the country.

At the time of his death, he was representing the group Cuerdas y Voces del Llano, a peasant group whose improvisers represented Cuba in the celebrations for Mexico's Independence Day last September.

Luis Alberto Venegas Carmenate also contributed his experience in the Provincial Directorate of Culture as an advisor to the Department of Inspection and Internal Control.

Culture mourns such a sensitive loss and extends its deepest condolences to family and friends.
