• In Ciego de Ávila, almost 900 polling stations will open within a week during the democratic exercise

Since dawn this Sunday, the 899 schools set up in Ciego de Ávila for the elections on November 27 verify the methodology of the process, as well as the material conditions and the effectiveness of the communication systems, among other preparations.

The main objective of the dynamic test indicated by the National Electoral Council is to check all the components of the electoral system at the base. It is carried out after the training of the electoral authorities and the elaboration and verification of the register, and it precedes the day of voting.

As a result of 1,845 nomination assemblies held (with an average attendance higher than the national average), in Ciego de Ávila, a total of 1,155 candidates will go to the ballot, in their constituencies, of which more than 45 percent are women.

The verification exercise this Sunday will convene all the electoral authorities and support groups in the communities, but not the students who guard the polls. It will be verified that each school has the national symbols and that the alternates of each member of the tables are defined.

As specified in the convocation of the Council of State, the municipal elections will be held on November 27 in the first round, and on December 4 in the second round, in those constituencies in which none of the candidates obtains more than 50 percent of the valid votes that were issued.
