    Trocha Júcaro-Morón

    ·      It is the longest running event sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association in Ciego de Ávila

From November 25 to December 2, the Cultural Crusade Following the Trail returns, from Júcaro to Morón, to the cultural billboards of the province, a community-wide contest with a high sociopolitical impact, which takes art to the same places that they retraced the rebels and the Liberation Army during the independence wars.

Alejandro Quiñones, vice president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), in an online press conference, detailed the planned schedule that includes visits to communities that are difficult to access, schools and workplaces, where music, literature and theater will be the main course of the presentations.

“On November 26, we will be in Júcaro and Venezuela; on the 28th in Macizo Cañero and La Caoba; on the 29th in the area of Ceballos and Santo Tomás; on the 30th in El Manguito community and in the Ciro Redondo Bioelectric Plant; and on December 1st, we will visit the Yambambó project, El Vaquerito area and the Casa de la Cubanía in Morón”.

The House of the Young Creator, in the main city, will host other spaces, including the presentation of the book La Trocha por dentro, by the historian José Gabriel Quintas, who died a little over a year ago, and a debate on the figure of Fidel Castro Ruz as promoter of the process of massification of culture in the country.

The flag-bearing of the Luis and Sergio Saíz Brigade will take place on the 25th at 10:00 tomorrow, in the Máximo Gómez park, where homage will also be paid to this distinguished patriot and, from that moment, the tireless work of artists on one of the fronts in which they already have enough experience: community work.

To close in style, on December 2nd, at 2:00 in the afternoon, an audiovisual will be shown with the memories of the event, described as one of the longest-lived of those sponsored by this organization.

Santa Masiel Rueda Moreno, president of the AHS in the province, explained that this opportunity is dedicated to the 36th anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association, the 64th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the 127th anniversary of the Liberation Army and Fidel Castro Ruz, on the sixth anniversary of his physical disappearance.

Hence, art is a happy excuse to make history coincide with national identity while the Cultural Crusade Following the Trail lasts, from Júcaro to Morón.
