Melany knows that time is money for her mommy. She also understands that maternal love is worth a fortune, so she waits until late for mom to tuck her in, kiss her, and wish her good night.

"Although I always make the time to talk with my daughter, play with her and attend to her educational needs, especially school activities, so much responsibility limits staying at home these days, for this I have the help of my mother and my husband" , Mariset Hernández Rodríguez, member of the Provincial Secretariat of the Cuba Worker Central in Ciego de Ávila affirms.

At 32 years of age, she has the task of being today the president of the Provincial Candidacy Commission, which shows the peculiarity of being directed by women, this body and the 10 another ones at the municipal level.

"The inauguration of the position was very exciting, it was an honor and a great commitment for me, because in previous electoral processes I performed similar functions in the municipalities of Chambas and Ciego de Ávila, but what is happening today requires more preparation with adherence to Law 127.

"In our province, the plenary sessions of the mass and student organizations are held, two of them in the universities, to elect the pre-candidates for deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power, the one for the CTC will be held on the 15th.

"In this process until December 20, it is ensured that those selected ones meet the conditions of capacity, merit, moral authority, popular acceptance and being representative of the different sectors and activities.

"Another important step of the candidacy commissions corresponds to the preparation of the inauguration of the Municipal Government Assemblies, scheduled for December 17, throughout the country."

The young mother considers having that of the union movement from Ciego de Ávila as another unconditional family, not only in relation to the support for Melany's education, but also in her training as a student of the Master's Degree in Sociopolitical Sciences.
