Feria Internacional del Libro comercializará más de cuatro millones de ejemplares en 2023

With the presence of Juan Rodríguez Cabrera, president of the Cuban Book Institute, and José Noé Ríos, Colombian ambassador to Cuba, those present were told that the cultural event will be held from February 9 to 19, in this capital, having as its main headquarters the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress and the Havana Historic Center.

The fair's website indicated that Noé Ríos was the spokesperson for the message from Patricia Ariza Flórez, Colombian Minister of Culture, who said she was happy that Colombia was the guest of honor.

Participating in the Havana Fair is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our countries that have been built by men and women of the arts and literature, such as our great writer Gabriel Garcia Márquez, the minister added in her words.

Rodríguez Cabrera stated that the event, after taking place in the capital, will continue from March 2 to 5 in the western provinces, and from March 9 to 12 in the center of the country, concluding in the east from 16 to 19.

The country has arranged the logistics to make the program an event for the whole family, so in addition to the main spaces it will have a prominent presence in the Casa de las Américas, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the José Martí, the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center, the Vicente Revuelta Center, the Cuba Pavilion, the Finca de los Monos Technological Palace, among others, he specified.

He pointed out that the event also has a vocation to reach the neighborhood, as a priority of the book institutions that in the last 14 months have inaugurated more than 130 library houses.

The fair will have inclusive reading as its theme, will address the cultural impact of new reading formats that currently represent an editorial revolution, and will pay tribute to the centenarians of Fina García Marruz and Antonio Núñez Jiménez.
