The current champions, the Violeta team, as hosts, smiled in the first 9-2 match, with a three-run shot by Santos Tornes and a good job from the mound by Jonathan López.

At the second hour, both teams were tied to zero until inning 7 in which, due to the sudden death rule, the people from Pinos managed to score two, enough for success, since the current champions only scored one in the bottom half of that chapter.

In this way, the people of Ciro Redondo, who have never lifted a trophy in 44 provincial jousts, will be able to dream of doing so this Saturday for the first time at the Sergio Antuña stadium, in their municipality.

These two squads were the same ones that discussed the final of 2019, in which the Violeta team prevailed in two of the three scheduled duels.

As we have already published, the Provincial Baseball Commission announced that, once this contest is over, they will proceed to select the players who will seek a position in the Ciego de Ávila team for the upcoming baseball campaign, scheduled to begin in March.

This time there will be two shortlists to choose from, since the tournament for the sub 23 category will take place parallel to the 62nd National Series.
