Avanza recuperación del bloque dos de Feltón

This Thursday in Holguín, the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Vice Prime Minister of Cuba, verified the rehabilitation process of unit two of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant, Felton, in the municipality of Mayarí.

Managers and workers of the plant explained the progress of the current stage of disassembly of the boiler, recognized as a complex and controlled process, which constitutes one of the most important actions of the recovery.

Valdés Menéndez learned that the work is currently 53 percent completed and the disassembly of the oven, the main steam pipes, the roof, the intermediate wall, the convective axis and other aggregates have already been dismantled.

Likewise, work is being done on the maintenance and conservation of the remaining elements and on the disassembly of the high-medium pressure cylinder of the turbine of this block of the thermoelectric plant.

They also explained that after several metallographic opinions, the dome was declared satisfactory and they assured that the water panels and aggregates of the convective axis have to be replaced due to the state of degradation they present due to the time of exploitation.

In addition, he added that this process must be concluded with all the precision it requires, avoiding unnecessary delays in order to resume stability in the shortest possible time in one of the plants that decides on electricity generation in the country.

On the other hand, Euclides Rodríguez Mejías, director of the industry, explained that unit one maintains a stable contribution, with an availability of 245 MW in the last 115 days, due, considerably, to the decrease in boiler leaks.
