The improvement of the educational sector in Cuba continues

The improvement of the national education system, a process that takes up previous experiences and adopts new "paths" to raise the quality of teaching, remains a priority, with the aim of preserving Education as a conquest of the Cuban Revolution.

Ernesto Marrero Vega, member of the secretariat of the National Union of Education, Science and Sports (SNTECD) recently declared in Ciego de Ávila that it is the essential purpose of a country like Cuba, concerned with the education of its citizens.

He emphasized that they are committed to strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational system, which includes the promotion of values ​​and feelings of love for the Homeland, appreciable in their integration into productive days, voluntary blood donations, support for the popular referendum on the Family Code and the election process.

He recognized the contributions to the Maternal-Child Care Program and the fight against cancer, as well as the incorporation into the solidarity movement developed in the territory to help the western provinces affected by Hurricane Ian, particularly Pinar del Río.

He highlighted as priorities the continuity of the improvement of the methodological work, the preparation of the teaching staff to raise the quality of the teaching-learning process, the strengthening of the political-ideological work and the use of digital platforms as a combat scenario.

Other premises are the permanent dialogue with the student body, in order to face antisocial manifestations, and the incorporation of the program to counteract cultural colonization, he said.

He added that it is also intended to strengthen preventive work, in conjunction with political and mass organizations, through comprehensive care for children, adolescents and young people; and guarantee teaching coverage, by complying with entry plans to all training pathways.

Marrero Vega alluded to the permanence of differentiated attention to vocational pre-university institutes of exact sciences, and to the follow-up on the implementation of the teaching-productive strategy in Technical-Professional Education and the study-work principle at all levels.
