Susivey Márquez Toledo, coordinator of Programs and Objectives of the Economy in the Provincial Government of People's Power, highlighted the implementation of a work strategy to serve the 21 companies that closed with losses in the previous year, including some that contribute to the national balance.

She expanded that they will create a Territorial Economic Commission (CET), with structures in the ten municipalities and the responsibility of supervising entities with negative indicators, as well as those that project losses for 2023, whose results will be checked systematically.

She pointed out that the CETs will advise companies to find solutions to economic‒productive problems.

It will be added, she said, the joint effort of the Máximo Gómez Báez University, the affiliate of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba, and the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, involved in the preparation of the various economic actors.

She communicated that some entities manage to reduce the economic effects as a result of the diversification of social objects, by including secondary activities; and the reorganization of the base structures and the workforce.

They will constantly update and review the cost sheets for products and services, execute the expenses from the expected income level and clean up the accounts receivable, she added.

She emphasized that almost 27 percent of the companies in the territory concluded with losses exceeding 607 million pesos, mostly corresponding to the agricultural and sugar sectors.

Some 33 groups, with planned profits, presented ups and downs in their economy; only 17 exceeded these conditions and four show a recovery trend, although they remain with unfavorable indicators, she specified.

During the monthly exchange with the main cadres and managers of the territory, Governor Tomás Alexis Martín Venegas reported that starting next week the local business sector would reinforce its contribution to passenger transportation through boarding points.

The provision of state vehicles to support the transfer by this route, fundamentally in the places and times with the greatest influx of travelers, responds to the interest of reducing the effects caused by the deterioration of public transport and the energy crisis, she explained.

In this context and given the difficulties with the ambulance service, patients with serious illnesses who require help to be transported to distant hospitals are identified with Public Health, where they receive medical assistance systematically.

Martín Venegas mentioned as other priorities the transformations in neighborhoods and communities, repairs in provincial hospitals, the development of the Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture Program, revolutionary vigilance and consolidation of the confrontation with crime, illegalities and social indiscipline.

The Ciego de Ávila Heartbeat political movement and its stage of Decisive Effort, inspired by Fidel's ideas, promote the integral progress of the province, with the goal of reaching, in the current year, the headquarters of the central activities for the Day of National Rebellion.
