The union movement, with the accompaniment of the administrative and political directorates of the province of Ciego de Ávila, begins this week and until March 31 of this year the political process of presenting the economic plan and the 2023 budget in the collectives’ labor.

According to an editorial published in the newspaper Trabajadores, the debates will take place in a complex context, characterized by the insufficient capture of convertible currencies, a high level of shortages, fiscal deficit, notable inflation that is reflected in the speculative growth of prices with the consequent loss of the purchasing power of wages, which together with the intensified imperialist economic blockade, has repercussions on the quality of life of the population.

In this sense, the National Secretariat of the Worker Union in Cuba calls for an in-depth exchange and arguments in each work center, to take advantage of collective intelligence and put it in function of seeking solutions because the true economic plan is the one that responds to the demands of the people.

It emphasizes the call to focus the debates on how to promote the export of goods and services, import substitution, the promotion of foreign investment, progress in the stabilization of the country's macro-economy, the promotion of food production, progress in the reduction of inequalities, the decentralization of powers based on greater municipal autonomy and the comprehensive transformation of the Socialist State Enterprise.
