Beyond the charm caused by the beautiful landscapes, recognized for aesthetic and natural values ​​of the Bamburanao mountain range, and the links established for work and academic reasons, the municipality of Florencia arouses special admiration in Reina de la Caridad Torres Pérez.

Recently elected as a candidate for deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) for that town, located in the center‒west of the province of Ciego de Ávila, she confessed that she has always admired the industriousness, simplicity, modesty and capacity of Florencia people to build based on the collective well-being.

There, she once again breathed a familiar atmosphere, during the exchange he had with the population in communities and objectives of political, economic and social interest.

She described the dialogue with workers from the state and non-state sectors as fruitful; however, she attached special significance to the meetings with students from educational centers of all educational levels, which became an opportunity to talk to them about the functions carried out by the ANPP and its deputies.

Regarding the latter, he told them that they transmit to that Supreme Organ of State Power the main concerns of the people and intervene in the approval of the laws that govern the functioning of the nation.

When they arrived at one of the schools —she recalled— they analyzed the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and, based on the knowledge that the students had acquired, there was a pleasant exchange, also favored by the fact that many recently exercised their right to vote, during the popular referendum on the Family Code and the municipal elections.

In the same way, she stated, the pioneers expressed their identification with the Cuban political system and the importance of getting involved in the elections to guard the ballot boxes.

The designation as a possible representative of the Florencia people before the ANPP took her by surprise and, above all, the recognition for her work as head of the Department of Information and Social Communication of the Provincial Government of Popular Power, as well as the monitoring of the content it generates in physical and virtual spaces.

If when exercising the right to vote, on March 26, that people decides to represent them, then they will have the commitment to march with them, not only as a deputy, but as a revolutionary and Cuban woman. It implies contributing to economic and social development, and participating in the construction of a prosperous, fairer and more equitable society.

Much can be achieved in Florencia and I am encouraged that they are already doing it, she expressed with satisfaction, after the last tours of the so-called Municipality of Beautiful Landscapes.

During the IX legislature of the ANPP, Torres Pérez has served as a parliamentarian and integrated the Permanent Commission of Agrifood Work. He feels healthy pride and commitment when conforming the candidacy for a body that will renew its composition.

If it were up to him to continue during the coming term of office, she would put her knowledge in function of fulfilling new tasks to promote the integral progress of the country, aware that parliamentarians are elected by a territory, but their management does not fall within that area, because they are representatives of and for Cuba.
