    Cuba continues reconnecting to the world: Monterrey-Havana-Cayo Coco route inaugurated

    Continúa Cuba reconectándose al mundo: Inauguran ruta Monterrey-Habana-Cayo Coco

    With a familiarization flight made up of travel agents and tour operators, the Monterey-Havana-Jardines del Rey air route was inaugurated this Wednesday, which will bring Mexican tourists closer to both destinations in Cuba.

    Viajes Cubanacán will be the main receptive for vacationers and will work together with the Mexican tour operator Viajes Bojórquez, accompanied by Enjoy Travel Group and Skedio.

    The flights, with two weekly frequencies -Wednesdays and Saturdays-, will enhance the segmentation of the issuing markets to the country and to the sun and beach destination in Ciego de Ávila, in addition to promote a direct connection between Jardines del Rey and the Cuban capital.

    The familiarization group will develop a four-day program to learn about the hotel and non-hotel products of the destination made up of the Coco, Guillermo, Paredón Grande and Antón Chico cays.

    Cristina Pérez, a salesperson for the Enjoy Travel Group Agency, highlighted the importance of this connection, with a round trip on the same day, to promote the promotion of the destination located in the north of Ciego de Ávila.

    Francis Hernández, from Viñales Tours operator, from Monterey, stressed the expectations from the new route, since it improves connectivity with the islets and will allow access for Mexican families to the beautiful beaches of the enclave.

    María José Monroy, representative of Servicios Turisticos Catmon S.A, from Guadalajara, emphasized that they aspire to increase business and achieve the growth of tourism between both countries so that their compatriots can get to know the different destinations on the Caribbean island.

    Mario Antonio Hernández Rivero, director of the Cayo Coco Airport Base Business Unit, reported that with these two new operations the number that the enclave receives weekly rises to 49, mostly from Canada and Russia.

    Jardines del Rey currently has 26 hotels, four and five star categories, located on the beachfront, with more than 10,000 rooms, and in addition to its excellent sun and beach product, it offers various extra-hotel offers linked to the natural environment of great biological diversity, suitable for hiking, nature tourism and water sports.
