These days, the 23 people from Ciego de Ávila, candidates for deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power, toured every corner of the province of Ciego de Ávila in a frank act of reciprocal learning.

They visited people's councils, rural communities, factories, health centers, schools...they spoke with residents of various social categories and at the same time they made themselves known to those who on March 26 will vote to integrate a new version of the Cuban Parliament.

The candidates learned about the problems of each place they visited, assimilated the opinions and solutions provided by the people of Ciego de Ávila, valid to later take them to the country's highest government body.

Then there was a mutual acquaintance. The population already knows whom their representatives are, those who will take their concerns to the top of Parliament in the next legislature, and the deputies learned of the mistakes and successes that exist in their territory.

It was very fruitful to identify the problems of the town, learn about the collective imagination and together find local solutions for economic advancement and the well-being of all.

This practice must be established with a certain frequency because parliamentarians have to be very close to whom they represent and to the Cuban reality, which is constantly changing.

The world is going through difficult times and for Cuba they are even more difficult due to the economic and political siege that is weighing on this island, so the unity of the people, the communion of actions and the search for solutions is the way forward, hence that the relationship between deputy and voters is fundamental.
