This Thursday, March 9, the announcement of the Ciego de Ávila team that will represent the province in the upcoming 62nd National Baseball Series is scheduled. The team, who will debut on the 23rd against Industriales at the Latin-American stadium, must present a squad with many possibilities in attack and defense, but with a skilled pitching that is the great unknown, after the absences of Yander Guevara and Dachel Duquesne.

However, the management of Tigres is confident that shooters with some experience in these competitions, such as Luis Alberto Marrero, Liomil González Ercilla, Kevin Soto Acea, Osvaldo Cárdenas Agüero and Arnaldo Rodríguez Romero, together with the veteran Vladimir García Escalante, they could get the team into the postseason.

On the opening date they will be rivals Granma vs. Matanzas, Villa Clara vs. Cienfuegos, Sancti Spiritus vs. Camaguey, Las Tunas vs. Isla de la Juventud, Holguin vs. Mayabeque, Santiago de Cuba vs. Artemisa and Guantánamo vs. Pinar del Río, in all cases on properties belonging to the former.

As it was already announced, this time the subseries will be five games and the three-time national champions, after facing those from the capital, will travel to Villa Clara to face them at the Augusto César Sandino stadium.

After this initial journey, Ciego de Ávila will be at its headquarters in the José Ramón Cepero stadium to clash, consecutively, with Holguín, Las Tunas and Mayabeque.
