Achieving progress to the postseason and, subsequently, improving the fourth seat in the previous fair, are the objectives of the Ciego de Ávila team, which was announced this Thursday at a meeting chaired by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and top political leader in the province.

The Tigers, who will debut in the 62nd National Baseball Series at the Latin-American stadium against Industriales on the coming March 22nd, have 11 rookies in their ranks and the average age of the group is 24.5 years.

Yorbis Borroto, who will once again be the captain of the three-time national champions, said that the team has met all the requirements in this preparation period, thanks to the support received by the sports organization from the entities of the territory.

The same was expressed by Andrés García and Yorelvis Charles, provincial commissioner and team director, respectively, who insisted that discipline and cohesion have been the elements present in the training period.

Izquierdo Alonso, when addressing part of the team present at the meeting, alleged he was convinced that the Tigers would once again bring joy to the people of Ciego de Ávila, since they have three essential elements: quality, cohesion and discipline.
