    Basketball stars again in Ciego de Ávila

    On Tuesday and Wednesday, the best Cuban basketball players of both genders will be seen in action at the Giraldo Córdova Cardín Hall, not only in the traditional Eastern vs. Western Teams Game, but in various skills competitions that will take place in the All-Star Game of the Superior Basketball League, which Ciego de Ávila will once again host.

    The western women's squad will have Heriberto González from Ciego de Ávila as technical director (DT) and will be represented by locals Leanelis Mosquera, Yuliet Vázquez, Lisandra Vargas and Rachel Contreras, along with Eliannis Armenteros, Dayana Gay, and Yuliet Vázquez from the capital. Eilen Gibert (Sancti Spíritus), Rachel Valdó Fiss, Lisdaine Valle (Villa Clara) and Enriqueta Neira (Mayabeque) also participate.

    In the defenses of the eastern team will be María Montero, Bárbara Martínez, Betsi Guilarte, Yaquira Guibert and Melissa Despaigne from Guantanamo; Dislaine Vicente and Suanly Tamiz from Santiago, along with Bexy Claro from Holguin. The DT will be the indomitable Abelis Robert.

    There will be four representatives of Los Bùfalos in the eastern group: Yasser Rodríguez, Yosbany Hernández, Dariel Castellanos and Carlos César Villegas, along with Luis Amaury Bueno, Esteban Martínez, Ibrahín Echevarría and Alexis Torres from Santiago de Cuba, as well as Adrián Valdés, Luis Angel Castillo and Daniel Alejandro Garcia. The DT will be Carlos Manuel Suárez (Santiago de Cuba).

    The western squad will be made up of Pedro Luis Roque, Joan Carlos Gutiérrez, Héctor Martinto, Loisel Martínez and Abel Font from the capital, Yoel Luis Sánchez, Jairo R González and Denis Lazo from Artemisa, as well as Andy Castellanos (Mayabeque); and Andy Boffil and Didier González from Villa Clara. Reinier Muñiz, from Havana, will be the DT.
