Fusion, alternative and contemporary music is the musical cocktail that from March 29 to April 4 proposes the Piña Colada Festival in Ciego de Ávila, an event that returns to its rights with a tight program of activities to celebrate, in style, 20 years of permanence and popularity from the center of the Island.
"That this is a village festival and that the family can enjoy artists of national relevance for free, in a difficult context that has forced extra efforts", was the leitmotif with which Arnaldo Rodríguez, in charge of the organizing committee, praised the expectations in press conference.
Now, we can verify that the aspirations are materialized not only with the VII Music and Youth Symposium, which extends days, venues and hours, but with luxury guests such as Vania Borges, Alexander Abreu and Havana D'Primera, Adrián Berazaín, Buena Fe, Annie Garcés, the Duo Iris and Karamba.
The Boyeros Concert Band under the direction of Daya Aceituno, Wena Onda, Toques del Río, Laritza Bacallao, Los 4 and the troubadours Raúl Torres and Leo CH are also joining the list. In addition, on these days, the actors Denys Ramos, Belissa Cruz, Giselle González and Alejandro Cuervo will exchange with students in different educational centers and will visit others of social interest.
Among the topics to be debated as part of the theoretical conferences, the musical promotion of young creators on the radio stands out; the musical podcasts Sonogramas and Trovando, from Radio Rebelde; the life and work of personalities such as Armando Rondón, Armando Alfonso Padilla, Andrés Hernández Font and César Alberti; the realization of musical programs on television and the presentation of audiobooks made in the terroir. Each space will have the presence of prominent figures to lead the dialogue and provide points of view.
Other exclusive proposals will be the presentation of the latest musical production by Adrián Berazaín, the CD Julián, dedicated to José Martí and his son, and the official stop as part of the Piña Colada on the Buena Fe national tour, a group that promotes these days his phonogram Morada. Likewise, we will discover the young Annie Garcés in a new facet that explores children's music.
The Ellas y la Canción show is expected with equal enthusiasm, under the baton of Vania Borges, this Saturday at 10:00 pm in the Patio de Artex, as the artist will be accompanied on stage by other voices from the patio with expertise in the interpretation of themes of Cuban songwriting. Attentive eyes and ears, too, for Alexander Abreu and Havana D'Primera in the Plaza Mayor General Máximo Gómez, which has conquered an audience in recent years for its indisputable seal in the interpretation of current popular dance music.
Moreover, local talent will have spaces won in previous editions of the event, so the opportunity to share with national and international figures will be another of the incentives and the good news that is here to stay.
