It is not very difficult to guess that the fourth month of the year has already arrived when, these days, Ciego de Ávila turns into a party and youth in any corner, and the enthusiasm has plenty of reasons to celebrate next April 4, the 61st anniversaries of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and 62 from the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM).

En Ciego de Ávila, fiesta de juventudes este 4 de abril

On this occasion, the festivities are part of a broad program of activities that has not wanted to remain only in the provincial capital, but has spread to the rest of the municipalities with productive work, meetings in the communities, visits to historical sites and activities cultural-recreational, according to what Nailyn Machado Álvarez, first secretary of the UJC in the territory, Invasor told.

For a celebration that also seeks to honor the 95th anniversary of the birth of Ernesto Che Guevara, Machado Álvarez specified, it was essential to reach the places that the Heroic Guerrilla fighter visited in this central province, hence, on the 29th, the Museum of Azúcar, in the community of Patria, witnessed the meeting between generations led by founders, students and members of the Provincial Bureau of the UJC, with the purpose of exchanging experiences on the operation of the organization.

On the other hand, on Thursday, the project With everything for the neighborhood transferred the revelry to Chambas, where around 50 young people from the Federation of High School Students, the University Student Federation and prominent grassroots committee secretaries shared sports, cultural and recreational with the community; Meanwhile, this Friday the appointment was with nature and history in the already traditional ascent to Pico 28 de Enero, the highest elevation in the province, to reissue part of the route that Camilo Cienfuegos traveled to Yaguajay.

As a great gift for the youth of Ciego de Avila, the first secretary of the UJC valued the Piña Colada Festival which, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, brings together, from March 29 to next Tuesday, luxury guests such as Vania Borges, Alexander Abreu and Havana D' Primera, and Adrián Berazaín; in addition to hosting, this Saturday, the official stop of the national tour A Better Youth, starring Buena Fe, the duo Iris and Karamba.

The first day of the month was reserved for the productive work that mobilized efforts in all the municipalities, except Morón and the capital, for being the venues for the Piña Colada activities, and which, according to the youth leader, extended to various scenarios. fundamentally linked to food production, with the aim of being able to satisfy the needs of each territory.

On April 4, then, the central act will take place at the Alfredo R. Pérez torula yeast factory, owned by Ciro Redondo —founded in 1965 at the proposal of Che—, where the three outstanding municipalities in the work of the last year will be recognized and Four distinctions will be given on April 4 (three to pioneers and the other to an educational institution that stands out in the work of the pioneer organization). In the same way, the occasion will be propitious for 61 young people to receive the card that accredits them as members of the UJC.

The UJC adds another anniversary, but the challenge of being the protagonist of its time remains intact in a country where, as the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, recognized on March 26th, “the future belongs to the young; the present is already belonging to the young”.
