Workers Union of Cuba and the Associations that represent 119,933 members of the sections of state entities, the private sector and retirees in the province of Ciego de Ávila, carry out various activities in honor of May 1st, International Day of the working class.

Each action is accompanied by the main slogan To the Homeland, hands and heart, according to what Mariset Hernández Rodríguez, a member of the Provincial Secretariat of the CTC, reported at a press conference, who explained that the initiatives began in the workplace with the reading of the call to hold massive parades in the 10 municipalities, with a view to expressing joy and commitment to economic and social development programs.

She mentioned among the proposals a massive activity dedicated to the game of dominoes, next Saturday in the José Martí park, in the capital of Ciego de Avila; exhibitions, walks, cultural galas, recognition of combatants from Playa Girón and stimulation events for 11 labor groups that have won National Vanguard status, for their comprehensive results in 2022.

Niurka Ferrer Castillo, general secretary of the CTC in the territory, stressed that the flag with the emblem of Latir Sindical Avileño, will begin its journey next Sunday from furrows of the Arnaldo Ramírez Agricultural Company, from the municipality of Primero de Enero, and it will pass by 95 centers in the province, in homage to the anniversary of the birth of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, on June 14, 1928.

The trade unionist emphasized that on the 13th of this month the balance assembly of the workers' organization will be held to evaluate the behavior of its internal functioning, the policy of cadres and the performance of the economy of the province, among other issues.
