    Randol Izquierdo, a cyclist from Ciego de Ávila who runs through Cuba A, won the penultimate stage of the Center Region Biking Tour, (and also the first Mountain Prize, in the segment between Santa Clara and Cienfuegos that took place this Saturday at a distance of 87 kilometers.

    Randol, who appeared in the group that was chasing the escape in which Serguei Fernández from Ciego de Ávila was involved, attacked hard a short distance from the finish line to win his first stage in the current turn.

    The sportsman has played a leading role in the current pedal season in Cuba, as he was also crowned in La Farola Biking Tour that took place in March.

    It was also encouraging that the two representatives from Ciego de Ávila who appear in the Top 10 of the Center Region Biking Tour, Serguei and Juan Carlos Martínez, will enter with the same time as the winner and therefore maintained positions seven and nine, respectively, in the Classification Overall Single.

    The tour continues to be led by Pedro Portuondo from Santiago de Cuba with more than three minutes ahead of Ricardo Delgado (Cuba A) and his compatriot Ángel Pupo.

    In the team classification, Ciego de Ávila appears in sixth position, surpassed by Cuba A, Santiago de Cuba, Sancti Spíritus, Artemisa and Cuba B.

    This Sunday, the last fraction of the biking tour will be run, which will be in the traditional circuit of the Prado in Cienfuegos at a distance of 64.8 km. Due to the characteristics of the stage, there should be no significant changes in the classifications.
