The Unicorn Seal of Abdala Productions in collaboration with the Provincial Music and Entertainment Marketing Company, Musicávila, premiered this Sunday at the headquarters of the Provincial Committee of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the documentary Martha Jean Claude: music and tradition.

The audiovisual establishes a dramaturgical parallelism with two sociocultural projects from Ciego de Ávila: La Gran Familia by Ciro Redondo and Fanm Zetwal from Morón, both authentic groups that carry Haitian culture in the central region of Cuba.

This work of the Unicorn Seal is included in the La Vie Collection (Life in Creole), with the advice of musicologist Laura Vilar, who from the Center for Research and Development of Music (CIDMUC) studied for several decades, the traditions of other Caribbean lands settled on Cuban soil.

The documentary Martha Jean-Claude: music and tradition is dedicated to the centenary of this famous Haitian singer, known as the "Daughter of Two Islands" and a symbol of fraternity between Haiti and Cuba, where she lived most of her life.

"With these materials, Unicorn intends to bring to light socio-cultural, religious-festive traditions where music, dance and cuisine are still distinguished from the Cuban ones," the Musicávila press release said.

The technical team of Abdala Productions was made up of Henry García in the cameras, Erick Delgado in the direction of photography and Enzo Estrada, Reynier Salazar and Anel Barrera in sound. The executive production was in charge of Mabel Muñiz and Milena Fraga in production.
